This Privacy Policy explains how Completely Legitimate Business Inc. ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use Don's Cons at donscons.com (the "Service"). We've tried to keep this short and honest. If you don't agree with anything here, please don't use the Service.

1. The Short Version

Don's Cons does not require you to create an account, does not ask for your email, does not run ads, and does not sell or share your data. We collect the minimum information needed to run the game: a display name you choose, anonymous gameplay state, and basic technical information from your browser. That's it.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information collected only to:

Operate the Don's Cons game (sync game state between players, display names, deal cards)
Diagnose and fix technical problems
Protect the Service from abuse
Comply with legal obligations

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent any information about you. We share information only with:

Service providers we depend on to run the Service: currently Google Firebase (real-time database and anonymous authentication) and Amazon Web Services (web hosting). These providers operate under their own privacy policies and are contractually bound to use data only to provide their services to us.
Other players in the same game: your chosen display name and your card picks are visible to other players in your game, by design.
Authorities, if legally required: we will only disclose information if compelled by valid legal process and to the extent legally required.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

We use your browser's localStorage to remember your display name (so you don't have to retype it) and your preference about whether to show the how-to-play tutorial. These are not tracking cookies and are not shared with anyone. You can clear them at any time through your browser settings.

We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

6. Data Retention

Game data is short-lived. Once a game ends (or after a long period of inactivity), the game record is deleted from our database. Your display name persists in your own browser's localStorage until you clear it. We have no long-term database of players.

7. Your Choices

Stop using the Service. Simply close the tab. No active session means no data is being processed.
Clear your local data. Clearing your browser's storage for donscons.com removes the saved display name and preferences.
Leave a game. Using the "Leave game" option in the in-game menu removes you from the active game's data.
Request deletion. Because we do not maintain persistent user records, there is typically nothing to delete on our end after a game ends. If you have a specific concern, contact us using the address below.

8. Children

Don's Cons is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the Service, please contact us and we will delete any associated data we can identify.

9. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect the data we hold, including HTTPS-encrypted connections and Firebase's built-in security rules that limit data access to authenticated game sessions. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International Users

Don's Cons is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted on the Service.
